Finally, when you have all offers in, you can start bargaining if you like. Perhaps one contractor seemed more knowledgable than the others, but he is only the third best on price. Tell him that you really want him to do the job – flatter him a bit – if he could only reduce his price a bit. It might work and it might not, but it is always worth a shot. In the end, once you have committed to the best offer, don’t forget to make sure you get what you were promised.
